Well that’s a mouthful! We are talking cake here, right? Well the race has come and gone (don’t worry we are announcing next year’s date really soon!!), but now we get to share with you our bride who won a free Stella York wedding dress!!

Our winner, Megan, came in a couple of weekends ago and this was her experience at Bucci’s Bridal, “We had so much fun exploring the Stella dresses. I can’t stop thinking about my dress, and am absolutely blown away by the one we chose. THANK YOU! I really appreciate everything you have done to help make this process amazing.”

What we love about the Piece of Cake! 5K race is, not only is it bringing together your bridesmaids, groom and families together, it’s also promoting health while helping you plan your wedding with fun prize giveaways and benefitting a non-profit charity. We look forward to hosting this event again next year with Weddings With A Twist and it’ll be even bigger and better!

Here is a little about Megan and her upcoming wedding with Kevin:

My fiancé (Kevin) and I met at Concordia University Wisconsin our freshman year of college (although my mom remembers meeting Kevin at the Freshman Orientation day months before school even started). Since CUW is a small school, we met through mutual friends and ended up playing on the same intramural soccer team. Our first date was to the Milwaukee Art Museum towards the end of the spring semester, shortly after our first date, I announced that I was transferring schools to UW Stevens Point the next year to pursue a psychology degree. Since then, we have done long distance and are looking forward to finally living in the same city next summer!

We got engaged August 2016 at the Milwaukee Art Museum after reminiscing on our first date. For our proposal, Kevin also had my good friend, Kelsey of Kelsey Barth Photography (www.kelseybarth.com) hidden to document the YES!

Kevin recently graduated from CUW with his MBA, and currently works as a Commercial Banking Credit Analyst. I am finishing up my Master’s degree in Cognitive and Affective Psychology at UW Oshkosh.

Our wedding will be in Madison, WI in August of 2018. We are having our ceremony at the Madison Public Library (a beautiful venue wth high ceilings, clean white lines, and lots of windows!) and our reception will be at the Madison Children’s Museum (a venue with lots of character and the BEST view of the capitol). We will be trying to do as much locally as possible— can I say besides marrying Kevin, and eating lots of wedding cake, I may be most excited to have bouquets of flowers from the Madison Farmer’s Market!

Kevin and I like to explore Milwaukee and Madison together. We enjoy running, biking and spending time with family. We watch a bit too much Seinfeld and How I met your Mother, and our favorite date nights usually involve trips to get ice cream.

We also need to add Kevin took 2nd place in our race this year, which also made him the top male runner!
